Dr. Gianesini is a surgeon and vein specialist at University of Ferrara, Italy, where he holds an habilitation for associate professorship in cardiovascular surgery.
He’s also adjunct associate professor at USUHS University (Bethesda, USA). He is president of
the venouslymphatic World International Network (vWIN) Foundation, International Union of
Phlebology president-elect, and AVLS board of directors member. He is International Angiology
Journal associate editor, Journal of Vascular Surgery:Venous & Lymphatic Disorders Editorial board member, Phlebology Journal associate editor, Editorial Board member of the Chinese Medical Journal and Associate-Editor of the Journal of Indonesian Society for Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. He is General Director of the UCES University-Buenos Aires non-invasive diagnostic course. In 2017-2018, he chaired the abstract committee for the AVLS Annual Congress and he's currently chair of the AVLS international committee. He’s director of the Game Over to Leg Failure public health awareness project and of the Venous Updates from the World meetings. He has served as president of the VI International Inter-university meeting and of the vWINter international meeting. He served as president the 10th International Interuniversity 2022 v-WINter DUBAI meeting. He will be the president of the v-ITALY 2023 meeting.
