This session will discuss materials necessary for sclerotherapy of large and small varices. The choice of sclerosants will be discussed depending on the size and level of vein involved as well as best practice of injecting sclerosant. Immediate post-sclerotherapy management will be discussed.

Learning Objectives:

  • Apply appropriate sclerotherapy techniques for patients with varicose veins and telangiectasia .
  • Understand appropriate concentration, sclerosants, volume, and technique to optimize outcomes and minimize complications .
  • Recognize variations among physicians in treatment set up and techniques.
