This session will provide an examination of the properties of sclerosant foams, foam creation, foam behaviour in the vascular system, indications and contraindications for the use of foam and current guidelines and recommendations.

Learning Objective: To advance participants’ knowledge of foam sclerotherapy as a treatment technique.
• Review the characteristics and indications of foamed sclerosant.
• Understand how to create foam sclerosant and when it is appropriate to use foam sclerotherapy as a treatment
• Analyze the effect of sclerosant type, bubble size, gas on foam efficacy
• Summarize current guidelines and recommendations for the use of foam sclerotherapy
• Understand the potential complications of foam sclerotherapy and strategies for prevention and management of complications
