A review of current state of the art wound care management

Learning Objectives:

  • Upon completion, participant will be able to discuss an improved understanding of venous dysfunction in wounds and management.
  • Upon completion, participant will be able to discuss an improved understanding of lymphatic dysfunction in wounds and management.
  • Upon completion, participant will be able to discuss utiliztion of compression in venous leg ulcers and mixed arterial/venous ulcers and the impact upon improving lymphatic function and arterial perfusion to wounds.
  • Upon completion, participant will be able to discuss countermeasures for improving treatment of lymphatic stasis and lymphangion contractility for patients with wounds.
  • Upon completion, participant will be able to discuss the relevance of the microvasculature, the endothelial glycocalyx and biofilm management to wound care.
