Nicolas J. Mouawad, MD, MPH, MBA, FSVS, FRCS, FACS, RPVI is board certified in general and vascular surgery. He earned his medical degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and completed a general surgery residency at Trinity Health System in Ann Arbor, MI. He also completed a vascular surgery fellowship at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. He has a long focus as a healthcare services professional with a Master's in Business Administration focused on healthcare management as well as a Master's of Public Health focusing on Health Policy and Health Education & Promotion. He also completed the Leadership Program for Health Policy and Management at The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University, Waltham, MA. He joined the McLaren Health System staff in 2014 and currently is Chief of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery, Chief of Staff, and Vice-Chair of the Department of Surgery.

An active clinical researcher, Dr. Mouawad is Chair of Cardiovascular Research for the McLaren Health System. He is principal investigator of multiple health system related trials. He serves as Associate Editor for Annals in Vascular Surgery - BRI and is on the Editorial Board of multiple journals.
