Dr. Julianne Stoughton is a Board Certified Vascular Surgeon who has been a leader and pioneer in the specialty of venous disease for almost three decades. She is the Medical Director for the Venous Program at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and she teaches at Harvard Medical School. She has been a member of the Board of the New England Vascular Society (vice president), the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine (Treasurer), the American Venous Forum, and the American Vein and Lymphatic Society (ACP) over the years. She was also Program Chair for the AVLS Annual Meeting in 2012 and has served on many committees for the above organizations. She has lectured locally, nationally, and internationally on many aspects of venous disease, and has published several articles and book chapters on this topic. Her early attention to Pelvic Venous Disease has also been a special interest. She has lectured on pelvic venous disease nationally and internationally in Brazil, Italy, France, Turkey and Dubai.
She started a new Harvard University GME approved fellowship training program in Venous disease in 2021, and is the Program Director for the Harvard/ MGH Vascular Center Venous and Lymphatic Medicine Fellowship.
