LMT, PTA, CLT-LANA Adie MacKenzie is a Lymphedema Therapist, Medical Massage Therapist and Health Coach with 40 years of experience in massage. Currently dividing her time between private practice and clinical therapy at the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Vanderbilt, she previously worked as a Vanderbilt Dayani Center PTA, graduating summa cum laude from PTA school in 2009.
Originally from Los Angeles, clients have included film & television stars along with world-class athletes, musicians and record producers. Her massage work is praised in both Naomi and Wynonna Judd's autobiographies.
Shortly after completing treatment for breast cancer in 2010, she trained at the Academy of Lymphatic Studies and helped to establish the Vanderbilt Lymphedema Therapy Clinic. In 2013, she obtained an advanced certification through the Lymphology Association of North America.
Her work has focused on breast cancer rehabilitation, treating scar tissue adhesions, functional limitations and Lymphedema. She has presented case-study posters at conferences including the National Lymphedema Network, The World Congress of Lymphology and the International Lymphedema Framework.
Formerly serving on the board of the Lymphedema Advocacy Group, Adie went to Washington D.C. repeatedly to advocate for lymphedema patients through lobbying for the Lymphedema Treatment Act. Locally, she has co-facillitated the Nashville Lymphedema Empowerment Group for over 5 years.
Adie's clinical and private practices allow her to participate in an Integrative Health Care team along with patient advocacy and community service activities while continuing to care for those affected by cancer and dealing with lymphedema, conditions she knows personally.
