My special interest is in filariaisis and cutaneous leishmaniasis in Sri Lanka including molecular and immunodiagnostics. My work has involved in-vitro culture, differentiation of Leishmania species, infection of THP-1 cell line with parasites, and immunofluorescence, screening novel compounds as drug candidates for Leishmaniasis. I have also engaged in clinical research in neglected tropical disease, Filariasis. I'm also skilled in clinical and laboratory diagnosis of varied parasitological diseases..
