Dr. Carsten Arnoldussen, MD studied Medicine at the University of Maastricht, The Netherlands. He received his training in Radiology at the Maastricht University Medical Centre and obtained his board license in 2012 including his cardiovascular imaging subspecialty. He further specialized in interventional radiology and after completing his fellowship started working at both VieCuri Medical Centre (Venlo) & Maastricht University Medical Centre. In addition to his clinical work at VieCuri Medical Centre, he continues to conduct research as part of the venous disease research team at the Maastricht University Medical Centre+ and VieCuri Medical Centre. The focus of his research is on (non-)invasive imaging of deep venous disease, both acute and chronic obstruction as well as insufficiency. Furthermore, he has a specific (research) interest in diagnosing and treating PeVD, investigating the relation between clinical presentation and image findings and treatment outcome. He is currently in the final phase of writing his thesis on the non-invasive identification of venous disease (in particular with MR-Venography) and how to optimize treatment planning using non-invasive imaging information.
