Anand “Sunny” Narayanan, PhD, is currently a Research Faculty at Florida State University (FSU), specializing in space and medical physiology, having an interdisciplinary background in engineering and biomedical sciences, with >20 consistent years of experience with NASA, as well as experience with NIH studies, studying the cardiovascular (e.g. lymphatic, artery, veins, heart, etc.) and immune adaptations in the context of diverse conditions (e.g. medical conditions such as lymphedema and auto-immune, extreme environments such as spaceflight, etc.). Sunny is also involved with global and public health related projects, addressing healthcare inequities in underserved and rural communities (https://globalhealthfsufam.wixsite.com/my-site). He is also a first-generation academic and former Pell grant student, and is involved with various educational outreach initiatives and interdisciplinary projects supporting the next generation of students and young professionals.
