The ABVLM is an independent, non-profit organization established in 2007 that certifies US & Canadian physicians in venous & lymphatic medicine (VLM). The certification process involves meeting prerequisites in education (45 VLM CME in past 3 years), clinical experience (Case Log of 200 cases), and passing a 4-hour, 200-item multiple-choice exam. Details are in our Application Criteria PDF. The historical exam pass rate is 86%, and ABVLM has certified 941 physicians. The annual exam is held at PearsonVUE Testing Centers in the late summer. Several self-study prep opportunities are on our website. An AVLS review course is offered in the Spring. Certified physicians are listed on ABVLM's "Find a Diplomate" lookup feature accessible to the public. Certification also support the subspecialty in general. Please visit our website for more information, or apply online at www.ABVLM.org. You can also reach us at info@ABVLM.org and toll-free at (877) 699-4114.
